image2The little bird fluttered to Grandmother Winter

Knock knock knock , they knocked on the ice door of Grandmother Winter´s hut. Grandmother Winter was sitting near the fire place and knitting fluffy snow. When she heard the knocks she asked

´Who is outside´

´Its us, the birds´

´What would you like´

´We are cold and would like warm fur under the feathers.´ Grandmother Winter looked in the window and saw the freezing birds. She opened the door of the ice hut and let them go to the warm oven that they would warm themselves. Then she gave them warm feathers and the birds flew away happily.

image3Grandmother Winter was again sitting near the fire place and knitting fluffy snow.

Knock knock knock, were knocks on the door

´Who is outside? ´

´We are; wolf, grey wolf and sister fox´ she opened the door

´What would you like? ´

´We would like winter fur, we are without warm fur and we will freeze.´ Grandmother Winter gave them what they asked. They happily said thank you and went on their way.

image4Grandmother Winter was again sitting near the fire place and knitting down.

Knock knock knock were knocks on the door

´Who is outside? ´

´Hopping - Rabbit and jumping-squirrel´

She let them into the hut.

´What would you like? ´

´We are cold and do not have winter coats! ´

´What coats would you like? ´

´Light ones so that the hunters would not see us in the white fields.´ Grandmother Winter once again opened the colorful chest and looked for light winter coats for the rabbit and squirrel. They happily said thank you and hopped away.

image5Grandmother Winter was again sitting near the oven and knitting down. Just then the window turned dark and there was a loud knock on the door, shaking the ice hut. Grandmother Winter was startled. She looked out the window and saw a big bear at the front of the door.

´I am cold Grandmother Winter cold, he growled.´

Grandmother Winter looked in the colorful chest and pulled out the largest warmest coat.

´This coat is for you, lovely bear. Now go back into the den and sleep! ´

´Thank you Grandmother Winter,´ said the bear and he went on this way. In the den with the warm coat he slept. From then on Grandmother Winter was knitting fluffy snow in peace. She sat near the warm fire place until spring time knitting, knitting and knitting.
